Resurrection of Our Lord

April 4, 2021

Christ is risen! Jesus is alive, and God has swallowed up death forever. With Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome, we may feel astonished and confused, unsure of what to make of the empty tomb. But this is why we gather: to proclaim, witness, praise, and affirm the liberating reality of Christ's death and resurrection. In word and feast, we celebrate God's unending love, and depart to share this good news with all the world. Alleluia!

Prayer of the Day:

Lord God, Heavenly Father, you have demonstrated your power and your love for us by raising our Lord from the dead. In his resurrection, you have declared that nothing can confound you, nor keep you from us, not even death! Grace us with the same power that raised our Lord to life, so that we too may live the resurrected life, now and eternally, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. AMEN.

Hymn: "At The Lamb's High Feast" (vs.2, 3)
P: We praise you, heavenly Father, and you're Son, Christ our Lord, through whom you have saved and redeemed us. Through him you first created us, and through him you still more gloriously rescued us from sin and death.
C: Oh, the greatness of your love, that you would take our fallen nature to yourself and, through your suffering, free us from suffering and death!
P: Oh, the greatness of your love, Lord Christ, that on the night before you went to die, while at table with your disciples, you took bread, gave thanks, broke it and gave it to them, saying: "Take and eat; this is my body, given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me." Then you took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it for all to drink, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin. Do this for the remembrance of me."
